A news industry veteran and creator of Medill journalism school’s new media graduate program, Northwestern University professor Rich Gordon has been the force behind the school’s “innovation project” classes, in which students develop new products or experiment with new technologies relevant to journalism. In addition to addressing the changing j-school landscape, Gordon will discuss his work as at the Northwestern Media Management Center, where he is responsible for a research initiative focusing on the impact of online communities, including social networks, on journalism and publishing.
